Making Lanterns for Peace

Join us for a special edition of our weekly book celebration, focused on picture books from Japan and restoring paper lanterns which will be then floated on Nashawannuck Pond on the evening of August 9th in commemoration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Help us beautify the Youth Department bookshelves with your art! During this new quarterly program, you will have the chance to make something that will then be on display at the library for about three months. Choose either the Wednesday or the Friday session and come ready to create. For this first display the program is recommended for school-aged children and teens, we will be creating with Model Magic; all supplies will be provided. Registration is required, sign up here in person or by calling us at 413-527-1031 or emailing us at youthdept@ewmlibrary.org.
