Screen-Free Creativity with Chris: Shadow Boxes!

It’s a half-day for the Easthampton Public Schools, come to the library and spend time making shadow boxes of the natural world. Emily will start the program with a story and then Easthampton Public Health Nurse, Chris Southworth, will lead us in an absorbing and creative activity.

Family Eclipse Program with Meg Thacher

Come prepare for the eclipse with us! Smith College astronomy professor and science writer for children, Meg Thacher, will be talking with families about the coming eclipse and leading us in an activity to make a pinhole eclipse viewers! Program geared for elementary aged children but siblings and families are welcome. Summer Storytime Series

Come join us each Monday for a six week Summer Storytime Series celebrating berries and fruit! We will gather for songs and stories designed for ages 1-3, but babies, preschoolers, and siblings are all welcome as well. At 11am a craft project will be offered.

Magical Fireflies with Hands on Nature

Learn about these special nocturnal insects, and the ways they have been used as sources of light in many cultures. Discover the habits and lifestyles of these luminous insects, and learn what makes their ‘cool light’ different from other ‘warm light’. Bring a recycled glass jar, and make a firefly catcher to bring home and enjoy this summer! Recommended for ages 5+.
