Dory Fantasmagory Party

Do you love books that make you laugh and are full of imagination and real feelings? Do you wish you had a fairy godmother named Mr. Nuggy, who answers the banana phone when you call? Or maybe you already know the Dory Fantasmagory books? Did you know a new one (the 6th!) just came out? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, or are just up for a fun afternoon, come to our Dory Fantasmagory Party where we will celebrate this fabulous character and series with crafts, snacks, readalouds, and a dancy party inspired by the most recent book! Registration encouraged, program geared for children ages 5-9, all who are interested are welcome.

It’s a half-day for Easthampton Public Schools, join us and Easthampton Public Health Nurse, Chris Southworth, for some cozy craft time making things with paper hearts! We’ll start with a short storytime and then dig into making.

Come drop-in to this collaborative multimedia mural-making session! We will have lots of fun and engaging materials and an inspiring winter backdrop of the city for participants of all ages to add to; it will be displayed at the library afterward.

Screen-Free Creativity with Chris: Shadow Boxes!

It’s a half-day for the Easthampton Public Schools, come to the library and spend time making shadow boxes of the natural world. Emily will start the program with a story and then Easthampton Public Health Nurse, Chris Southworth, will lead us in an absorbing and creative activity.

An Interactive Introduction to Storyboarding!

Are you interested in art, movies, or just want to try something new?  Come to the library to learn all about the art of making storyboards! A storyboard is a series of drawings that visualize what shots will be needed before the crew sets out to film.  Instead of a camera, we use pencils, paper, and our imagination to bring the words to life.  At this program, you’ll get to learn about filmmaking, get a few drawing tips, and make some storyboards of your very own.  No prior experience or skill is required!  Storyboarding is about visualizing ideas, not making brilliant works of art, so there is literally zero pressure.  Ages 10+, Registration is recommended–stop by the library, give us a call at 413-527-1031, or send us an email at youthdept@ewmlibrary.org.
