Mountain River Taiko Performance

We are delighted to be hosting an all-ages Taiko perfomance on the library lawn! Taiko is a full-body performance art that blends physicality and musicality, movement and rhythm. Originating in Japan but molded by a globalized world, taiko performances pay homage to ancient rhythms as well as innovate contemporary beats. Bring a blanket to sit on if you’d like.

Mountain River Taiko is a multi-generational community group sharing their love of Japanese drumming in western Massachusetts and beyond for over 10 years. Come join us for books and playtime! We will gather for songs and stories designed for ages 1-3, but babies, preschoolers, and siblings are all welcome as well. At 11am a craft project will be offered.

Yoga for (People With) Chronic Pain

Brian Mulligan offers Yoga for people with chronic pain. A blending of poses, breathing techniques, meditation and positive thinking.
Participants should be able to get up and down off the floor, chairs can be used as assistance.

Folding chairs will be provided. Please BYO Yoga Mats!

Tuesdays at 10am.  No registration required, participation may be limited if demand outstrips space constraints. First come, first served.

Yoga with Brian Mulligan
Sep 30 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Free adult yoga class, weekly on Mondays (except the 4th Monday) from 6-7pm with Brian Mulligan. Brian stresses a gentle approach to yoga with emphasis on proper alignment, safety and well-balanced classes.

Drop-in and bring your own yoga mat.

Brian is a certified 200 hour yoga instructor who studied under Kim Valerie’s Iyengar based Yoga Spirits out of Beverly, MA. He’s also certified to teach chair yoga, having studied under Lakshmi Voelker’s Get Fit Where You Sit program. Lakshmi has trained over 1600 Chair yoga instructors and trains out of Kripalu.
