Join local artist Dave Wallace (incendavery.com) to learn about his process for creating diary comics, and turn your own life into a work of art! Dave will lead participants through exercises that incorporate free writing, character creation, and scripting, before helping us put it all together into a finished comic. Come kick the summer off by making forts and reading in the library with flashlights after closing time! We will gather for a group story time and snacks and then disperse to make forts and read together! Bring sheets and pillows to make cozy forts. We will have one flashlight per family, feel free to bring more if you like. Registration required. Come and redeem your last reading hours for tickets for the final Summer Reading Raffles! Make sure all earned tickets are entered in raffles for chances to win wonderful prizes. All “finishers” of the program who have read 12 hours or more this summer can enjoy a fabulous popsicle from the one and only Crooked Stick Pops who will be right outside the Youth Department with their popsicle cart!
